Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fans slam Ruhi’s character

The show is one of the most talked about ones on Reddit. Quite a few fans feel that makers have done the character a lot of disservice. In the third generation of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we could see that Aarohi (Karishma Sawant) was a focused career-woman. Here, Ruhi is only obessed with Armaan. Some even said that she is a slightly better version of Pakhi’s character from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. These two shows have specialised in this two female leads, one man concept. A netizen wrote on Reddit, “Ruhi is basically a cheap copy of Pakhi in GHKKPM S1. The writers tried to save little legacy of YRKKH and so made a complete nonsense character. Pakhi was purely evil with huge guts but Ruhi is a madly in love, coward character.”

Fans of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai said that Ruhi seems very lifeless on the show. A person commented, “I mean they are but not so useless and lifeless like Ruhi. Arohi was second female lead but she was not wildly hated, neither was she aimless. Gayu too initially was a very nicely written character. I just don’t like how Ruhi’s character is portrayed.” Others said that they kind of understand the obsession that Ruhi has with Armaan but feel she should behave in a more mature manner. They feel the writers could have shown her as a more mature person.
