Warner Bros. Discovery announced its breakup in early June, and on July 28, the company shared the names of its newly split companies and the individuals who will lead them, with the changes expected to take effect sometime in mid-2026. *Drum roll please* They’ll separately be known as… Warner Bros. and Discovery Global. These are the same people who renamed HBO Max twice; what else would be expected? The company is basically being split between the streaming and studios for WB, and global networks will fall under Discovery Global. David Zaslav will be leading WB with leaders from HBO and HBO Max, WB Streaming and Games, DC Studios, WB TV, and the Motion Pictures division. As for Discovery Global, the current CFO of WBD, Gunnar Wiedenfels, will become CEO, leading executives from TNT Sports, CNN Worldwide, Discovery+, and more.
Does this mean you’ll have to get another subscription to watch 90 Day Fiancé? Probably not, since you’re most likely already a Discovery+ subscriber if you’re catching up on many spin-offs.
