This year, The Studio won so many Emmy awards that even the characters on The Studio would be impressed. The Apple TV+ show won the most Emmys ever for a single season of a comedy series, beating out the previous record holder, The Bear. In total, The Studio won 13 awards, including for comedy series, writing, directing, and acting.
“If you watched our show, if you appreciated our show, if you voted for our show, especially, thank you very much,” Seth Rogen said when the show won Outstanding Comedy Series. “I’m legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me.” The creators of the series ended their speech by thanking the real life executives who helped create their executive-focused show. Even Apple CEO Tim Cook got a shout out, and the Emmys promptly cut to him, happily bopping his head. “Thank you to the executives!” Rogen shouted as he left the stage. “Thank your executives!”

Nine were awarded at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, ahead of the Primetime Emmys on September 14. “I so could not wrap my head around this happening that I literally prepared nothing,” the show’s creator and star Seth Rogen said in his acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. “I’ve never won anything in my life. When I was a kid I bought a used bowling trophy at an estate sale, and my parents were like, yeah, that’s a good idea. You should probably buy that.”
Accepting the award for Outstanding Directing of a Comedy Series, Rogen added “The way that we make this show, everyone really has to come together in sort of a glorious passion, so thank you all for your hard work. This would not be possible without all of you.”
The only categories that The Studio faltered in were the Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy categories. Ike Barinholtz lost Supporting Actor to Somebody Somewhere’s Jeff Hiller, while Catherine O’Hara and Kathryn Hahn lost Supporting Actress to Katherine LaNasa, of The Pitt. Sometimes you literally can’t win ‘em all.
