Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave started to talk about her alleged affair with horse trainer Simon Schroeder for the first time on (where else?) a podcast August 5. “I’ve never talked about it at all, just because of the kids, and I’ve never wanted anybody to have a guarantee whether it happened or didn’t happen, but what I can say is: Did I do things that hurt other people? Yes,” Mellencamp said on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. Mellencamp, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in February, added, “To this day, does it still hurt my heart, and I wonder if that’s why I got cancer? Yes. Like it was my payback.”
Mellencamp shared on November 2, 2024, that she was getting divorced from Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage, and reports that she had an affair with Schroeder came out less than two weeks later. “It was all over the press; it was everywhere,” Mellencamp went on. “You’re trying to minimize everybody’s pain. You end up maximizing it. Because now not only do you have yourself, you have your significant other, your kids, the other person’s significant other, their kids.”
Since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Mellencamp and Arroyave have halted divorce proceedings, and he’s been by her side. “I always knew he’d do the right thing by me,” Mellencamp added. “If he wanted to, he could still be filing and finishing this divorce off right now.”
