In the series finale of Squid Game, Seong Gi-hun asserts that humans are not horses and that they should not be made to compete for money and other people’s entertainment. Squid Game: The Challenge is basically Netflix’s way of saying, “Yeah … but we’re gonna do it anyway.” Again. The reality competition inspired by the hit South Korean show is returning to make 456 more people compete for a chance to win $4.56 million. We’ve already got a trailer and a release date for season two — and it’s still not too late to sign up to compete in season three. Go, capitalism?
What happens in the teaser trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge season two?
Our players have (track)suited up for a real-life version of the six-legged race featured in Squid Game season two, which had players teaming up and linking legs as they completed mini-games on a circular rainbow track. Sweat is literally dripping off of one player’s nose. They know these aren’t life-or-death stakes, right?
When is Squid Game: The Challenge season two coming out?
Squid Game: The Challenge will return on November 4, 2025.
And season three is still casting?
Yup. Gong Yoo and/or Cate Blanchett probably won’t show up to slap you, but Netflix is still recruiting players for the third season of Squid Game: The Challenge. An online casting portal is already open for people in the U.S. and the U.K., but according to Tudum, winners of the immersive, paid Squid Game experience in New York and London will receive “priority” in the casting process. Note: Unlike the show it’s inspired by, there is an age requirement. You’ve got to be at least 21 years old to participate — no baby players allowed.
