Pankaj Jha who plays the role of MLA in web series Panchayat is currently in the news. The third season of the famous web series is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and he has a pivotal role to play in it. In a latest interview, Pankaj Jha opened up about missed opportunities. He shared that he was the one who was offered the role of Sultan Qureshi in Gangs of Wasseypur before Pankaj Tripathi. However, last minute the decision was changed and Pankaj Jha did not become Sultan Qureshi – the role that put spotlight on Pankaj Tripathi. In an interview with Digital Commentary, Pankaj Jha mentioned that he had agreed to be Sultan Qureshi in Anruag Kashyap‘s Gangs of Wasseypur. When he was offered the role, he was shooting in Patna. The actor reportedly told the director that he would comeback in two days. Anurag Kashyap promised him the role, however, when he returned the role was taken away by Pankaj Tripathi. When the host asked about politics in the film industry, Pankaj Jha mentioned that he isn’t quite bothered with it. Talking about Sultan Qureshi changing the trajectory of his career, the actor said that he is content in whatever space he is. Further, he spoke about movies making directors and also called Anurag Kashyap spineless. He was quoted saying, “While films like Satya and Gulaal create actors, they also make directors. But there are so many timid and spineless people here that they can’t even keep their word.” But he also asserted that he does not hold any grudges or complaints against Anurag Kashyap. In Panchayat 3, Pankaj Jha plays the role of Vidhayak Singh. The story of the web series is about Pradhanji vs MLA in the third instalment. Banrakas are siding with MLA but the people of Phulera hatch an interesting plan to show Vidhayak ji mirror. They manage to get his horse whom he loves dearly.
