Love Island USA’s Strongest Connection Is Actually Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for the cast of Love Island USA. It’s the first thing contestants do after a crazy night of sexy challenges and emotional eliminations (or surprise removals). You can’t pull someone aside for a chat while your stomach is growling. It’s not cute! There are a few guidelines for crafting a breakfast in Fiji, though. First, the plate has to contain a combination of eggs, bacon, fruit, avocado, and pancakes or waffles. Second, it has to be made well (or America will hear how bad you are at making scrambled eggs), and if you’re a girl, then it has to be made by another Islander, whether they have a crush on you or just want to impress you by showing off how nice they are to your friends.

It’s a lot on one’s plate, and almost every episode of the show has a five-minute-or-longer montage of couples speculating about what’s for breakfast, preparing breakfast, eating breakfast, or complaining about how their boo didn’t make their breakfast special enough. Ahead of this weekend’s finale, we plated all of the best breakfast moments buffet style, so go ahead and serve yourself. Just don’t forget to include a flower on top of the pancakes.

Honorable Mention: Chelley’s Onions

Onions have layers and normally you’re supposed to peel the first one. But Chelley is cutting an onion without tearing up, which is an impressive skill in itself.

Best Assistant Chef: Taylor

After Jeremiah gets recoupled with Iris, Huda is left breakfastless, which is the second saddest thing to happen to you in the villa, besides being dumped. Thankfully, Taylor swooped in to make her some pancakes.

Best Plating Technique: Nic

Nic makes sure to show Olandria how happy he is — with ketchup.

Most Likely to Know His ABC’s: Elan

Spelling out your crush’s name in pancakes is a love language in itself, like when Elan would make C pancakes for Cierra. Another Islander did supposedly spell out L-O-V-E I-S-L-A-N-D with pancakes, but because there wasn’t a clear picture, it’s hard to tell if they have a better spelling game than Elan.

Biggest Breakfast Game Changer: Crepês

Pepe has the power to make two heartbroken Islanders immediately forget about their old connections. It might be something in his crepês.

Most Likely to Waste Food: Nic

If you are an Islander that’s not Nic making breakfast for Cierra, that shit’s going in the trash. Nic threw out the tea that TJ made for Cierra, as well a breakfast that Elan made for her once all the Islanders were under one roof again. At least let her get a bite before handing her another plate of cut fruit, Nic!

Breakfast That Carries the Most Weight: Pancakes

Pancakes are the biggest indicator that someone likes you on the island. There’s multiple steps involved in the cooking process and many ways to impress your connection with presentation style (well, before someone else throws it away). Huda took note of how Chris gave Chelley two pancakes with a flower compared to her one pancake with nothing on top.

Top Chef: Ace

You have to give credit where credit is due: Ace is the top chef in the villa. He wins points for creativity (hibachi date with Chelley), generosity (cooking for many girls), and willingness to learn new skills (how to make an omelet for Chelley). “Cooking With Ace” TikTok series incoming …
