Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson, the last couple standing from Love Is Blind’s ill-fated season 5, are divorcing. On a recent podcast, Gonzalez said she filed for divorce from Johnson in part because he told her he’d never sign divorce papers “unless there was an NDA.” You may remember Gonzalez as part of the Lydia-Uche-Milton-Aaliyah love quadrangle. Lydia and Uche had been in a relationship before appearing on Love is Blind season 5, recognized each other in the pods, and kept quiet about it to production. When the news finally broke, so did Uche and Aaliyah. But Lydia and Milton got married — and stayed married for two years.
Gonzalez says the two aren’t splitting for “one thing,” but rather multiple issues. These include his indifference to her recent fibromyalgia diagnosis, what she saw as belittling behavior in front of his family, and his talking to other women when she was out of town. “That was it for me,” she said. “I was like, I cannot continue.”
Lydia and Milton were, until now, the last couple standing from season 5. Stacy and Izzy got engaged on the show, but Stacy called it off at the altar. JP and Taylor also broke things off after their trip to Mexico. In total, 9 couples from all U.S. seasons of Love Is Blind are still together.
