Nine women have come forward in Air Mail to accuse Jared Leto of inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct. Some of these women claim they were underage when Leto approached them. “Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat,” DJ Allie Teilz wrote in Instagram stories, as reported in Air Mail. “I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17.” Other claims include a woman who says Leto asked her sexually explicit questions when she was 16, another who said Leto began texting her when she was underage, then masturbated in front of her after she turned 18.
Model Laura La Rue says he met Leto at an animal rights benefit when she was 16. They started texting and she would visit his studio. La Rue claims one time, Leto walked into a room nude “like it was normal” when’s he was 17. “I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,” she said. Through representatives, Leto denies all allegations.
“It’s been an open secret for a long time,” one woman said. Evidence of this appeared in 2018, when Dylan Sprouse and James Gunn tweeted about what they saw as predatory behavior on Leto’s part. After the Margot Robbie dead rat story, Sprouse tweeted “Yo @JaredLeto now that you’ve slid into the DMs of every female model aged 18–25, what would you say your success rate is?” Gunn replied “He starts at 18 on the internet?”
