We are celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day today. It is a proud moment for all of us and we are all celebrating the great deeds of our freedom fighters. Hoisting the National Flag and singing our National anthem gives goosebumps every time. It is the day to celebrate our Nation and to promise that we will all strive hard to make our country proud. On this very day, we all got freedom from the British rule. Freedom has a different meaning for each one of us. Now, our TV stars have opened up about what freedom means to them. Here’s a look at what TV stars have to say about freedom:

Samridhii Shukla

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star Samridhii Shukla is one of the most popular stars and the show is creating waves in entertainment news. She spoke to BollywoodLife and said, “Freedom to me as a female is to be able to work for longer hours. Sometimes we pack up late night by 11pm or 12 am and it would not have been possible without my family’s support and trust for the people around me. Freedom means freedom to choose my own life. Freedom is me getting to choose to live my life the way I want to and to choose the career I want to. It is the freedom to have the choice and I think that matters a lot.”

Rohit Purohit

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star Rohit Purohit shares, “Freedom to me is to be able to live life on our own terms. Freedom mein wahi sab ata hai ki aapke upar koi limitations na ho, koi restrictons na ho, koi rokne wala na ho aur aap jo chahe vo kar pao. But uske baad hum usse kaise use karte hai vo hamari sensibilities pe depend karta hai.”

Celesti Bairagey

Celesti Bairagey shared, “Freedom, to me as an actress, is being able to express myself fully and take creative risks without limitations. This Independence Day, I celebrate the freedom that allows us to break boundaries and follow our passions and express ourselves in ways that are true to who we are.”

Amandeep Sidhu

Badall Pe Paon Hai actress Amandeep Sidhu also gave her take on freedom. She said, “To me, freedom means being able to be myself, without having to fit into what society expects. It’s about having the space to follow my dreams, make my own choices, and speak my mind without being judged. As an actor, I feel it’s important to tell stories that show the need for equality and empowerment. Independence Day reminds me of how much progress we’ve made as a country, and it inspires me to help create a future where everyone, especially women, can enjoy true freedom freedom from unfair treatment and limitations.”

Aakash Ahuja

Aakash Ahuja shared, “Freedom, to me, means being able to express myself without fear. It’s about having the right to make choices that reflect who I am, both in my life and in my work. On Independence Day, I think about all the people who fought so we could have this freedom today. It reminds me to use my voice in a way that not only entertains but also makes people think. True freedom is when everyone can live their life fully and chase their dreams, no matter who they are.”

Charul Malik

Charul Malik shared, “I believe the real freedom lies in the freedom of thought. If every Indian is given the freedom and validation to think in their own way, I feel we will be living a much better life and to make ourselves truly independent, we should respect every citizen of the country, regardless of their religion, sentiments or gender.”

Shivangi Verma

Shivangi Verma said, “Freedom means everything to me. Being able to move around freely in any part of our country without any problems is truly something to be grateful for. Patriotism gives us a sense of responsibility, and I feel lucky to be an Indian. It’s a feeling that you’re born with and carry with you all your life.”

Udne Ki Aasha actress Neha Harsora also gave her take on Freedom. She shared, “Independence Day marks the sacrifices that were done in order to attain freedom, and Independence Day is to rejoice that valour and bravery. This year, I’ll be celebrating it with my family. Every individual should respect the freedom that we have received post the struggles that have come along with it. The color from the tricolor flag that describes me would be the color white that stands for peace, and in real life too, I believe in it. Happy Independence Day!”
