Women love him, fish fear him. And ABC enables him. For the fifth year in a row, Jimmy Kimmel is taking a French-style vacances, and letting his show get taken over by a series of guest hosts. It’s a great tradition, harkening back to the days of that notorious shirkaday Johnny Carson. Kimmel gets to spend time with his family, his crew still gets paid, and a diverse crop of celebs get to take a stab at hosting a late-night talk show. Everybody wins, except the fish Kimmel slaughters on his many, many fishing trips.
This year sees some returning faces, such as Nicole Byer and Kumail Nanjiani. New kids on the mark include Traitors host Alan Cumming, Diego Luna, and every in memoriam segment’s fave Jelly Roll. Andor’s Diego Luna will kick off festivities on the week of June 23, when his guests will include Patton Oswalt, David Cornswet, and the national anthem-singing NEZZA.
