The second most important election of the year is over (the first is actually still going on, the Sanrio Character Rankings). Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected as the new head of the Catholic church — well, after the two other guys, of course — and will take on the name Pope Leo XIV during the rest of his legacy. He’s the first American Pope and subsequently the first Pope from Chicago, and we’ve quickly moved on from referencing Conclave to The Bear. The people love a cultural moment, especially when you can bring up prestige TV. Does Pope Leo have any hot takes on Chicago fine dining? Or pizza, in general? The internet is never going to let us forget he’s a Midwestern cardinal. Especially anyone who’s a White Sox fan — his brother made sure to clarify he wasn’t for the Cubs in the slightest.
