Who’s next, Mod Sun and Phil Collins? Not that this man can really surprise us anymore, but Bob Dylan has chosen to narrate Machine Gun Kelly’s new album trailer of his own free will, which lifts the stylus on a recent bromance between the two. The Lost Americana trailer pairs various film clips of MGK traversing the country with Dylan’s gravelly, Victoria’s Secret–honed voice. But why are we telling you this? Let the man warble for himself. “Lost Americana is a personal excavation of the American Dream — a journey to find what’s been lost. This album is a love letter to those who seek to rediscover, the dreamers, the drifters, the defiant,” Dylan explains. “It’s a sonic map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention, and a quest to reclaim the authentic essence of American freedom.” Taking a beat, he adds: “From the gold neon diners to the rumble of the motorcycles, this is music that celebrates the beauty found in the in-between spaces. Where the past is reimagined and the future is forged on your own terms.” Back in February, Dylan posted an old video of MGK rapping with no context, which culminated in the duo hanging out at one of his tour stops during the Outlaw Music Festival. Anyway, this is a strange way to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Burlesque Empire.
