Vaquar Shaikh feels grateful for portraying a lead role in his 40s

In an interview with TOI, Vaquar Shaikh stated that in an industry which is majorly dominated by young actors, he feels extremely grateful that he got an opportunity to play a leading role in his 40s. He further mentioned that after a certain age, it becomes a real challenge for actors, especially for a seasoned actor like him. He reveals that he has never satisfied anyone’s ego, nor is he someone who socializes a lot, attends parties, or is a part of any group. He shed light on the fact that an actor who doesn’t socialize or stay connected may not get all that he deserves. He mentions that as clich d as it sounds, age is certainly just a number. He believes that if an actor is mentally and physically fit, he can portray any type of character. However, he accepts that the real challenge is after a certain age when opportunities do become less, and he feels grateful for portraying a lead character like Yashdeep. The actor also states that he feels right now he is in the best phase of his career. He mentioned that today he is a part of one of the most successful TV shows, and at the same time, he has the scope to experiment in OTT and theater. He feels that whatever he has achieved today, he is happy and content with his journey as he has survived 20 years in acting industry, and that too on his own merit.
