She’s baaaaack! After a quick summer jam session with the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato is nocturnal in their second single, “Here All Night,” for their return to pop in their upcoming ninth album. As Lovato wakes up in a messy room but in perfect makeup, they sing about being so heartbroken that they go to the club to avoid facing their emotions; they’re not the only ones working the night shift. “Playing my heart so I don’t start to cry/DJs working late, she’s helping me try,” Lovato belts through her moves. “To get over you/I’ll be here all night.” She transforms her living room into her private club as she sweats and dances her pain away.

This is Lovato’s triumphant homecoming to her pop roots; her last two albums, Revamped and Holy Fvck, were rock-heavy, with the former even reimagining her pop hits as rock ballads. Considering her first two singles, “Fast” and “Here All Night,” are high-energy, danceable songs, Lovato has no plans of slowing down during her next era.
