She spent last summer releasing new versions of The Tortured Poets Department in order to stay ahead on sales, and she once campaigned for an Oscar for a music video. She likes attention — that’s fine and not yet a crime in the United States of America. Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce on August 26 and the timing felt … auspicious. Sure, she lays claim to the whole month of August, but is this something that just happened? “Page Six” confirmed that Swift and Kelce got engaged “a couple weeks ago,” which begs the question: Why announce it now? The day after Blake Lively’s birthday? What’s she trying to wrest control over?
The new Lana Del Rey album
Earlier today, Del Rey confirmed her country album, Stove, will be out in January. Swift and Del Rey are pals, so it’s likely that the former did not know that the latter would have an album update.
The Is This Thing On? Trailer
The teaser trailer for Maestro Bradley Cooper’s third film, Is This Thing On?, popped up this morning, featuring its director in a supporting role looking suspiciously like Marc Maron. Swift is longtime pals with both Cooper and his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, so it’s likely she at least sent one of them a text apology for overshadowing the news.
