Did Netflix Keep Huda From Revealing Her Perfect Match?

Is this why one of Huda Mustafa’s castmates told us she was “PR’ed up” at the Love Island USA season-seven reunion? During the two-hour episode on Monday, Mustafa cited “legal reasons” and repeatedly declined to answer co-host Andy Cohen’s questions about who she is dating outside of the villa. “It’s Netflix; I’m not allowed to talk about it,” she said. Mustafa is not under an NDA with Netflix, but it doesn’t seem like we should hold our breath for an official comment from the streamer: After the reunion, Netflix changed its bio on X to declare, “DON’T @ ME IDK!!!” In a TikTok Story statement posted after the reunion, Mustafa reiterated, “i prefer to share details about my relationships on my own terms, not for a tv show it has nothing to do with. repeated pressure to open up, especially when it’s excessive, makes me uncomfortable,” adding that she was asked more times than were shown in the final cut.

Prior to the reunion, Mustafa was spotted dancing with Too Hot to Handle star Louis Russell, who also appears in season three of Perfect Match, which dropped its first batch of episodes on Netflix on August 1. The pair previously walked the red carpet together at the Weapons premiere on July 31 in Los Angeles, much to the displeasure of Sandy Gallagher, who was coupled up with Russell in Perfect Match. (She called his red-carpet appearance with Mustafa a “slap in the face,” pointing to its effect on the audience’s viewing experience of their story line. “That is, like, reality-dating 101. You have to keep everything super-private,” Gallagher said on Love Is Blind star AD Smith’s What’s the Reality? podcast.) Mustafa and Russell were also photographed wearing matching outfits in London earlier in July. Thanks to their tattoos, we also know that they’ve made faceless appearances on each other’s social media, and she has even freestyled in one of his livestreams.

Cohen seemed dubious that Netflix wouldn’t let Mustafa confirm whether she was dating someone. At one point, he asked her if she was “seeing” the person she’d recently been … well, seen with on a red carpet. When Mustafa continued to blame it on Peacock’s rival streamer, he quipped, “Tell Netflix this was the No. 1 streaming show of the summer.” Every dating-show competitor already Clarked that a long time ago.
