Keanu Reeves, What Are You Doing Down There?

At the 2014 Tony Awards, Neil Patrick Harris, during the Hedwig and the Angry Inch performance, taught the world what a car wash was — it’s when a gay guy gets on someone’s armrests and thrusts his hips with utter delight. This year, Jonathan Groff picked up the mantle as Bobby Darin in Just in Time’s Tonys performance. He mounted Keanu Reeves’s armrests and gave him the hip thrust of his life. In response, Reeves did what he does best in the world — be a meme. In between Groff’s legs, Reeves pretending to look shocked, then threw up his best rock-and-roll hands, thrilled to be betwixt the legs of a manic gay man singing jazz standards as a long-dead playboy with significant mommy issues.

Reeves presented the first award of the night, Best Actress in a Play, to Sarah Snook, with Alex Winter, his co-star in an upcoming production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. Not to mention, he’s the Bill to Keanu’s Ted in all of the Bill & Ted films. They’ll be directed by Jamie Lloyd, who is nominated at this year’s Tony Awards for his work on Sunset Boulevard. Current and future Lloyd stars Reeves, Nicole Scherzinger, and Rachel Zegler would make for a killer Bill & Ted–style blunt rotation.
