The 2024 and ’25 theater season comes to a close not with a whimper but a bang, and by “bang” we of course mean Tony Awards host Cynthia Erivo belting her face off. The Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards for Excellence in Broadway are happening on June 8, celebrating the best in Broadway over the past year by handing out awards and featuring performances that will live on forever at gay guys’ YouTube nights. Seriously, Dreamgirls decided to just let Jennifer Holliday wail on “And I Am Telling You” over 40 years ago, and lives are still being changed to this day. What we’re saying is that every part of the Tonys matters — they’re the one time of year that Broadway gets to commune with the rest of the country and say, “Hey, here’s what your local high schools are going to perform in five to ten years.” Below, follow everything that happens at the 2025 Tony Awards in real time. —Jason Frank
