Throughout the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, has been by her side, supporting her in person in the courtroom. Ventura sued Combs in 2023, where she claimed that during their on-again, off-again relationship, Combs was emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive towards her and forced her to participate in “freak-off” parties. Despite settling in court, Ventura’s claims opened the floodgates for more and more victims to come forward, with over 63 lawsuits filed against Combs, causing the federal government to step in and leading to the larger current trial of United States v. Diddy. Ventura and three other victims take the stand to testify against Combs, and Ventura’s husband Fine, might testify in support of his wife, as they got together soon after her relationship with Combs ended.

What does Alex Fine do for work?

Fine was a celebrity personal trainer who started his own company, Alex Fine Performance, in 2015. He’s worked with stars like Jennifer Aniston, Mark Wahlberg, and the cast of Riverdale. Fine was Diddy’s trainer when he first met Ventura at the gym in 2018, a few months after her tumultuous relationship with Diddy ended. He currently owns a wellness company, Almost Home, that connects clients with fitness programs and experts. More recently, Fine transitioned into acting, starring in shows like 1883, American Primeval, and Mobland. He’s a supporter of the Compton Cowboys, a group that encourages equestrian culture in Compton, raising $50,000 for them and Haven Homes of Detroit, a nonprofit that provides safe housing for former human trafficking victims.

When did his relationship with Cassie start?

The two went public with their relationship in December 2018. Several months after their romance began, Ventura became pregnant with their first child, Frankie, and soon, they got married. “We decided to plan a wedding for this past summer after debating between getting married before or after the baby came,” Ventura told Vogue on their wedding profile in 2019. “I knew that Alex was designing a ring, but I honestly wasn’t expecting a super elaborate proposal because we already had the wedding date set, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me. I was so surprised!” Fine and Ventura were married in August 2019, and their daughter was born in December 2019. They have two children together and are expecting a third.

How is he mentioned in the Diddy lawsuit?

Ventura claims that Combs raped her in 2018, while she was in a relationship with Fine. She said in court that they had a “closure dinner” in Malibu and felt like the conversation was “very really nice, playful, laughing” and the breakup felt amicable. However, when Ventura and Combs entered her home, he allegedly raped her in her living room. She recalled, “I just remember crying and saying ‘no.’” Fine reportedly tried Facetime calling her during the assault, and when she told Fine in person what had happened, he angrily punched a wall.

Has he been at court?

Fine has been in court, supporting Ventura throughout the trial. However, during Ventura’s cross-examination from Combs’ defense team regarding an alleged rape in 2018, Fine left the courtroom per the judge’s order to prevent any conflict of interest if he is later asked to testify. There is no official confirmation if Fine will testify in court at this time.

Fine has only released one statement since the trial began. “Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing herself of her past. There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony,” Fine said in a statement on May 16, read by Ventura’s lawyer outside of the courtroom. “I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”
